On Friday dad and I picked up Chinese which was quite delicious. On Saturday we headed over to Chapel HIll to see Kelly and Michael. We went to A Southern Season and I got some of my favorite Italian chocolates, and Moravian sugar cookies..mmm! We had dinner at a restaurant called Sal's, then went to see Elizabethtown at Southpoint. It was an okay movie, not as good as I thought it would be, but still decent. The best part was seeing Kelly of course :D

So I got an A- on my 2nd Sociology test and a 95 on my Italian mid-term. Whoot..not too shabby. Didn't get my English paper back though, but we'll probably get them back soon. Hopefully I'll get my Philosophy test back tomorrow. Speaking of tests, I have a math test tomorrow which I need to study for.

I turned in my OC application on Thursday, and got my reply today. I have to sign up for an interview which will be sometime in mid November. We'll see what happens :)

Well I need to go study...later.

Weekend!

And the weekend is sweet indeed. I dreaded this week all last weekend, and I am so glad it's finally over. Having a big paper due in English, an Italian midterm, sociology test and philosophy test all in the same week was a little stressful. I got through it though, and hopefully I did well on everything. But now I have a huge research paper, or literature review, for English. We have to pick a topic, which can be about anything, and I don't know what I want to do yet. It has to be good though, because we have to find at least five sources to review, and probably more. Eh, I'm not looking foward to writing that, but hopefully I'll get a topic chosen this weekend.

So this weekend shall be mucho fun, I'm going to Chapel Hill to see the best sister ever! Hopefully we'll get to go shopping too, because I haven't been in forever. I need to get winter clothes sometime, because I have absolutely none, and the weather's getting colder. I might get to see Ashley and Melissa on Sunday too, which will be nice.

I got Subway for lunch..man was it good. I was having Subway cravings all week. I love me some turkey sandwhiches :) Now I'm listening to my old Green Day cd, and it makes me happy. Well that's about it for now...later taters.

making your mascara bleed
tears down your face, leaving places of my mistakes

Mid-terms

So, Italian and Sociology mid-terms are completed. Only one left..Philosophy, which is tomorrow, and the one I dread the most. I need to start studying soon, especially reading the book because I've been slacking really bad with philosophy reading. Mainly because it's a bunch of nonsense that makes no sense. Not that I don't like philosophy, just the textbook. It's ridiculous to have to read that thing. But anyway, the good news is that I sent my 3rd paper in English to my teacher yesterday, and he sent me back a note saying nothing needed to be changed and it's an A as it is. Whoot! That made my day.

Suzanne's going to the fair tonight...I envy her, I want funnel cakes! Haha. It'll be okay though, because I'll be studying during that time, and I'll get to watch Lost. I really cannot wait for this week to be over. It's been way too stressful, and just needs to disappear. Oh, I met with my advisor yesterday, and I don't register until Nov. 15. Yeah, I'm pretty bummed because that's pretty late to be registerting...us freshmen are at the bottom of the registration ladder. Oh well, at least I have some choice before high school seniors. :D Whoot. I just want decent classes at decent times. Anyway, I'm about to go get lunch upstairs, later. :)

First Entry

Greetings. This is my first entry using blogspot...stole the idea from my wonderful sister, Kelly. :) We'll see how long I can keep up with this one, I was getting tired of xanga and myspace. It's time for a change.

Anyway, this past week was a good week, I got a 96 on my second paper in English. That made me extremely happy. I don't know why, but I have this burning desire to do good in that class. I really want an A+ in there. You would think someone would be happy with a 96, but no...I want a 98. I'm very picky haha. I don't know why, but it's just that class where I'm like that. Of course I want good grades in my other classes as well, but maybe it's because I have an affinity for English and History, and humanities classes in general. Although, I can't say that for Philosophy because I detest that class. Not that I don't enjoy philosophy, but intro is the most boring class you'll ever sit through. Anywho, things are going pretty well...except for the fact that I have three mid-terms this week. Talk about stress! I took my Italian mid-term this morning, I think I did okay on it, we'll see whenever he gives it back to us. I hope I did well though. My sociology exam is on Wednesday, and Philosophy is on Thursday. I just need to take things one day at a time and it'll be alright. I also have an appointment with my advisor tomorrow to get my new PIN number for registration. Ohh the excitement. I can't wait to register for spring semester, because I really need some new classes and no 8 AMs!!

Moving on, I'm in the process of writing an 8 page paper right now on the libidinal desires/relationships and Oedipal complex present in Faulkner's A Rose for Emily and perverse Southern Christian values. Yeah, lots of words in there...and it took me all weekend to get my rough draft done. I literally stared at the computer for an hour and fifteen minutes thinking up my intro. I don't know why, but it takes me awhile to get essays done. A lot of people said it only took them about 4 hours to do it, but I definitely took all day. I don't know, I'm a very picky writer. If something doesn't sit well with me, I have to go back and fix it right away before moving on...perhaps that's why I take so long.

I went to Arby's with Suzanne for dinner today. It was quite tasty. I love our fast food trips out. I heart my roomie, hehe. This weekend I get to see Kelly and Michael in Chapel Hill. I'm uber excited, I can't wait!! I just can't wait for this week to be over, because these exams are worrying me, and I want to do good. And if that's going to happen I definitely need to study, which I haven't done yet...maybe I'll do that after I'm done, teehee.

So it finally feels so wonderful to break through everyone's expectations, and for once in my life, do something for me, and make my decisions based on what I want to do...not someone else. I'm going to try really hard not to let other people's opinions sway me anymore, because it doesn't do anything but bring you down and stress you out in the end. All one needs to do is simply look and see what is right for you, as in yourself...and of course, breathe.

::edit::
I just saw the State Fair's fireworks...from my dorm room. How awesome is that?? It was beautiful too, especially seeing it far away, with muted sound. Who knew beauty could be found in something so simple?
